Use an iPad as a teleprompter and your phone as a remote

Create the session on whichever device has your script

Open wavescript.one, paste your text and select Start teleprompter. If you are just trying the setup, use Try a sample first. The editor shows a six-digit session code, a QR code and links to open the other roles.

If your script is on a computer, create the session there and keep that editor available for changes. If you are working with only a tablet and phone, create it on the tablet. Open Prompter launches the reading screen in a new tab so you can return to the original editor.

Each session lasts up to 24 hours. Save locally keeps a separate draft in the browser where you save it; it is not a shared library and does not copy the draft to your other devices.

Choose a role on each screen

1. On the iPad, open WaveScript and select Enter code, or scan the session QR code.
2. Enter the code and choose Prompter screen, then allow its matching two-word request in the original editor. QR invitations connect directly. If the iPad created the session, use Open Prompter directly from its editor.
3. On your phone, open the same site, enter the same code and choose Remote control. Approve the matching request in the editor.
4. Wait for Connected on the controls, then press Play for a quick check.

More than one device can join the same session. The original editor changes the script; the prompter displays it; the remote controls playback and shared appearance settings. Keep the invite link within your recording setup: anyone with the link can read and control the session.

Choose the remote layout you can use without hunting

Open the phone’s settings and choose a layout. All controls includes the complete controls and Hold to scroll. Focus gives more space to Play/Pause and Back. Navigate emphasizes paragraph movement. Scroll lets you hold Rewind or Forward for continuous movement at twice the reading speed, then release to return to your previous play/pause state. Pace keeps speed controls available alongside playback and rewind.

Try the controls with the phone in the position you will actually use, such as on the desk beside you. A layout that looks convenient in your hand may feel different when you are reaching for it during a sentence.

The remote’s Prompter screen settings change the connected reading screens. Adjust font size, side margins, mirror mode and Screen fit there without leaving your recording position.

Run one short check before recording

Read a paragraph, pause it from the phone and move back. If you are using a computer editor, change a word and check that it appears on the tablet. This verifies the whole setup rather than just the session code.

Use the prompter’s fullscreen control if your browser supports it. Tap the reading screen to hide or show its controls. Keep WaveScript in the foreground while reading; switching apps can interrupt the browser’s activity.

If a device disconnects, check its connection and wait for the Connected status before continuing. An expired session needs a new code. When you finish, End session in the original editor closes it on all connected screens.
