Fit your teleprompter text to the screen you can see

Find the usable part of the display

Mount the tablet, set the camera position and look at the mirror from where you will speak. Check which edges of the screen are visible. Do this in your recording orientation: turning the tablet changes the space available for text.

Open Settings on the prompter and find Screen fit. You can also open Settings on the phone remote, select Prompter screen and adjust Screen fit there. The small preview shows the reading area and guide position.

Use a few paragraphs of sample text while setting up. A single short sentence may look fine even though the first or last lines of a longer script would fall outside your view.

Hide the parts that fall outside the mirror

Increase Top padding when the upper part of the display is hidden. Increase Bottom padding when the lower part is hidden. These settings leave blank space at the edges and reduce the area where the script is shown.

The two controls are independent. If only the top is missing from the reflection, you do not need to add the same amount at the bottom. Each control goes from 0% to 40% of the screen height.

For example, try 20% Top padding and 0% Bottom padding as a starting point if roughly the top fifth is out of view. Adjust by looking through your own setup; the right amount depends on the mount, mirror and viewing position.

Use Side margins for the left and right edges. Once all the text fits, adjust font size and line spacing for comfortable reading. Avoid squeezing more words into a line than you can easily follow.

Move the reading guide toward the lens

Guide position moves the reading line within the area left after top and bottom padding. At 50%, it sits halfway down that usable area. It is not measured from the top of the entire tablet.

If the guide looks too high compared with the camera, move it lower. If it looks too low, move it higher. Record a short sentence and check your eye line. A centered guide on the tablet is not necessarily centered on your camera lens.

The text follows the same reading position as the guide. Hiding the visible guide does not reset that position, so you can keep your chosen eye line while reading without a marker.

Check the beginning, middle and end

Start at the beginning, play a few paragraphs and check the final lines too. Confirm that you can read the active line without leaning or changing where you sit. Try mirror mode if your reflected text needs it; leave it off when reading directly from the screen.

WaveScript shares these settings across the session’s prompter screens. If you have several screens with different shapes, check each one after an adjustment. A layout that fits one mirror may need a compromise on another display.

Reset vertical layout restores the default top padding, bottom padding and guide position. It leaves the other appearance settings available for adjustment. Use it when changing to a different mount or when you want a clear starting point.
